Wanagama – A total of 61 students from the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Nusa Bangsa (UNB), class of 2022 and 2023, have successfully completed the General Forestry Practice (PUK) at the Wanagama I Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK). The practice was held over a period of 10 days, from August 5 to 15, 2025, with the aim of providing students with hands-on experience in applying classroom knowledge directly in the field.
The opening ceremony of the PUK took place on August 5, 2025, attended by Ir. Falah Alim Musyaffa, Field Manager of KHDTK Wanagama I, as well as Dwi Agus Sasongko, S.Hut., M.Si. and Abdul Rahman Rusli, S.Hut., M.Si. as representatives from UNB. In their remarks, both parties emphasized the importance of this practice as a bridge between theoretical knowledge in the classroom and the realities of forest management.
Throughout the practice, the students received a variety of core forestry materials. They learned about forest inventory, forest protection, thinning, agroforestry, nursery and seedling techniques, as well as the utilization of environmental services and non-timber forest products (NTFPs). Each topic was delivered through a combination of brief theoretical sessions and direct field practice, ensuring that students gained comprehensive understanding and practical skills.
The program concluded with a responsi, an evaluation session designed to assess the students’ understanding of all the materials covered during the PUK. Through this activity, it is expected that UNB students will gain solid knowledge and skills to prepare them to become professional foresters in the future.
