Historical Analysis of Mangrove Ecosystems Changes in Tidal Disasters-Prone Areas Using Remote Sensing

berita penelitian dan publikasi Sunday, 22 June 2025

Abstract
Mangrove ecosystems are vital for human livelihoods, but ongoing exploitation and natural disturbances have led to significant land use and cover changes. Therefore, this study aimed to identify trends regarding land cover (LC) changes in mangrove ecosystems using remote sensing. LC changes from 1988 to 2024, as observedusing remote sensing techniques. Satellite imagery from Landsat 5 TM, Landsat 7 ETM+, Landsat 8 OLI/TRIS, and Landsat read more

A global development and dynamics of peatland restoration: a bibliometric analysis

berita penelitian dan publikasi Friday, 13 June 2025

Abstract
Peatland ecosystems play a critical role in conservation of biodiversity and climate regulation, but face ongoing degradation from land-use change, mining, and infrastructure development. In response, peatland restoration has gained global attention. This bibliometric study analyzed 448 publications from the Web of Science (1996–2024) to identify global research trends, influential contributors, collaborative networks, technological developments, and implementation read more

Predictive modeling of water fow regulation in Northern Thailand’s deciduous watershed under deforestation and CMIP5 climate projections

berita penelitian dan publikasi Monday, 9 June 2025

Abstract
This study investigates the effects of deforestation and climate change on water flow regulation within the mixed-deciduous-forest-dominated Upper Nan Watershed in Northern Thailand. Using the SWAT model, hydrological changes were analyzed under 16 land-use scenarios and CMIP5 climate projections (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5) for both historic (1980–2020) and future (2021–2080) periods. Findings reveal that increasing rainfall variability under RCP8.5 amplifies hydrological read more

Growth, Morphophysiological Adaptation, Biomass Production, and Phenotypic Plasticity of Calliandra calothyrsus and Canna edulis Under Teak Stands in Three-Strata Agroforestry Systems

berita penelitian dan publikasi Saturday, 31 May 2025

Abstract
The optimization of land use under teak (Tectona grandis) stands in post taungya system canbe enhanced by planting understory crops in a kind of three-strata agroforestry systems.Despite the potential, there is limited information on growth, morphophysiological adaptability, production, and phenotypic plasticity of the crops. this study aims to assess growth, morphophysiological adaptation, biomass production, and phenotypic plasticity of Calliandracalothyrsus read more

Stem gravitropism and tension wood formation in three tropical woody species with different wood densities

berita penelitian dan publikasi Wednesday, 7 May 2025

Abstract
Angiosperm trees develop tension wood on the upper side of leaning stems to reorient the direction of stems towards their normal positions in response to a gravitational stimulus. The development of gelatinous fibers with thick inner gelatinous layers (G-layers) might elevate tensile stress required for such reorientation in many angiosperm species. This study aims to investigate negative gravitropism and tension wood formation in response to a gravitational read more

Changes in the ecological system of coastal areas of Bantul and Kulon Progo Regencies

berita penelitian dan publikasi Wednesday, 30 April 2025

Abstract
Coastal areas are classified as highly vulnerable because they are always tied to changes in the global aquatic environment. The ecosystem dynamics are increasingly complicated and complex as a result of interactions with other systems on land. This phenomenon is very visible in the coastal areas of Bantul Regency and Kulon Progo Regency. We use Sentinel-2 satellite image interpretation in the period 2013-2022 as a historical record of land use change, and read more

Characteristics of Kepuh (Sterculia foetida) Seed Biodiesel from Java Island, Indonesia to Support Renewable Energy Development

berita penelitian dan publikasi Tuesday, 25 March 2025

Abstract
Several non-edible plants, including kepuh (Sterculia foetida), are used as feedstock for biodiesel production in Indonesia. This study aimed to evaluate site-specific variations in biodiesel yield, characteristics, and chemical composition from seeds of S. foetida from 25 locations on Java Island and select superior seed sources for renewable energy development based on the quality of the produced biodiesel. The biodiesel yields ranged from 23.6% to 26%. The read more

Allometric Model for Estimating Above-ground Biomass and Carbon Stock of Bambusa vulgaris var. striata

berita penelitian dan publikasi Tuesday, 11 March 2025

Abstract
Bamboo, one of the non-timber forest products, is promising in climate change mitigation strategy due to its ability to remove COfrom the atmosphere through photosynthesis. However, the allometric model to estimate the biomass 2and carbon of bamboo is still limited. The research aimed to develop the allometric model using the diameter as the predictor. The materials for destructive sampling were 30 culms of yellow ampel bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris var. striata). read more

Effect of Ethephon on the Formation of Traumatic Resin Ducts in Pinus merkusii Seedlings

berita penelitian dan publikasi Monday, 3 March 2025

Abstract
Pinus merkusii shows great potential as a resin-producing wood in Indonesia, with the global demand for pine resin reaching 1 million tons annually. This study investigated the effect of ethephon on the anatomical properties of P. merkusii, particularly the resin duct that affects resin productivity, to increase the efficiency of pine resin tapping. Ethephon was mixed with Vaseline to create concentrations of 0%, 2%, 4%, and 8% and then applied to the seedlings read more

Diversity and Ecophysiological Performance of Coffee under Dry-Field and Homegarden Agroforestry in Yogyakarta

berita penelitian dan publikasi Thursday, 27 February 2025

Abstract
Coffee is commonly cultivated under agroforestry systems, including dry-field and homegarden. These systems were differentiated based on their proximity to the settlements, which might influence the species composition. This study aimed to observe plant composition, diversity, vegetation structure, and microclimate in coffee agroforestry systems and the physiological conditions of coffee. The experimental design was based on purposive sampling. A total of 100 read more
